St. Pete/Clearwater Film Commission Supports Scientology – CCHR

The Scientology front group Citizen’s Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) is hosting a screening of the soon-to-be-released film 10 Days in a Madhouse at the Fort Harrison Hotel on September 19th. The St. Petersburg/Clearwater Film Commission is a featured sponsor of the event, which benefits CCHR. Tickets are $75 for general admission and $125 for the VIP package.

Internet Movie Database has a summary of the film:

In 1887, at age 23, reporter Nellie Bly, working for Joseph Pulitzer, feigns mental illness to go undercover in notorious Blackwell’s Island a woman’s insane asylum to expose corruption, abuse and murder.

Director: Timothy Hines
Writer: Timothy Hines
Stars: Caroline Barry, Christopher Lambert, Kelly LeBrock

Hines is best known for an independent adaptation in 2005 of H.G. Wells’ War of the Worlds, which is not the Steven Spielberg/Tom Cruise version released the same year.

  1. i read the Nellie Bly history many years ago. Even as a younger woman, I knew that these were written about the age of ignorance towards Mental Illness. Ir took place many years ago, and I mean almost one hundred years ago….Way to try and spread more dishonesty in connecting mental health of today to the ancient past.

Nice price for the tickets to a old story.
