These are the first photos we have seen of the Chisinau, Moldova Mission, although they have been open for at least two years. For those who aren’t familiar, Moldova is a land-locked former Soviet Republic near the Black Sea that gained its independence in 1991. But for Scientology, this is another Russian mission. The primary language of Moldova is Romanian, but all the posters and materials on view in the mission are in Russian. Scientologists in Ukraine, Latvia and Moldova seem to be overwhelmingly Russian, judging by their names, the languages they use to post to social media, and the Scientology books and posters they display. It is difficult to expand and recruit in a country when you don’t do business in their native language. Below we see the Mission holder, Igor Cojocaru (right).
