Nation of Islam Public Completes “Knowing Who You Can Trust” Course

A member of the 7th Region of the Nation of Islam has completed the “Knowing Who You Can Trust” Course at the St. Petersburg, Florida Life Improvement Center. Since the Nation of Islam claims to be doing Dianetics, but not Scientology, we asked a source which category this course falls into.

That’s a straight Scientology course. It comes from the Chart of Human Evaluation – from the book Science of Survival. Had nothing to do with Dianetics in any way shape or form. AND those courses are not LRH – they all say “based on the works of L. Ron Hubbard.” No such courses existed in the 70s, 80s and early 90s – they came out long after LRH died. IMO totally squirrel and designed to keep guys off the bridge, or for people who will never make it on the bridge anyway. Useless courses.

  1. I have to disagree with your source about a few things. The Life Improvement Courses such as “Knowing Who You Can Trust” are most definitely not designed to keep guys off the bridge, or for people who will never make it on the bridge anyway. On the contrary, the courses are designed to get people on the bridge in a gradual (in Scientology terms, gradient) way, and in a less expensive way for those who can’t afford “professional” training in the Academy, or even more expensive Div 6 Public Courses.

Yes, the Life Improvement courses did not exist while Hubbard was alive, and are “based on” the works of Hubbard, but I don’t think it would be fair to call them “squirrel” — unless one is pretty hard-core KSW. As I recall, they track pretty closely with Hubbard’s writing.

To say the Life Improvement coursesz are “Useless courses” may seem to imply that the Academy and other Div 6 courses that existed during Hubbar’s lifetime were “useful.” With that I would have to also disagree.

    • Interesting. The whole NOI is a problem for Scientology, and the integration efforts seem to be mostly unsuccessful. NOI is larger than Scientology, and the processing seems to be mostly segregated, with this photo being an
      exception.

  2. “Knowing Who You Can Trust” and “L Ron Hubbard” appearing together on a non-shooped book cover….that was laugh out loud funny.

Thanks for the oxymoron-ish comedic relief!!
